Shuffle playback

1. Press the P.LIST (Playlist)/SHUF (Shuffle) button to play songs in random order.

To return to normal playback, press the P.LIST (Playlist)/SHUF (Shuffle) button again.

• During shuffle playback, you cannot skip to the previous or next folder, even if you press and hold the / button for longer than 1 second.

Play songs in random order. The playback range of songs can be changed.

1. On the music playback screen, display the option menu and select [ Play Mode ] — [ Shuffle ] or [ Shuffle & Repeat ].

Note

• When [ Play Mode ] is selected and [ Shuffle ] or [ Shuffle & Repeat ] with [ Playback Range ] is set to [ All Range ], your Walkman will not shuffle all of the songs at once. Instead, the Walkman will select an artist, album, etc. and play all corresponding songs in random order before moving on to another artist or album. To shuffle all songs at once, start from [ All Songs ]. If you start from a bookmark list, only the songs on the selected bookmark list will be played.

Changing the playback mode for a song (repeat play/shuffle play)

Play one song or all songs displayed in the content list repeatedly.

Shuffle play

Play the songs displayed in the content list in random order.

You can switch between shuffle play mode and normal play mode, and switch the type of repeat play mode by clicking (shuffle play mode) or (repeat play mode) recurrently on the playback operations .

• Shuffle :
  Play the songs in the displayed content list in random order.
• Repeat 1 song :
  Play the next song repeatedly. If you switch to this mode while you are playing a song, the song will play repeatedly.
• Repeat all :
  Play all songs in the displayed content list repeatedly. If albums are displayed in [ My Library ], the songs in the selected album will play repeatedly.

Hint

When you want to perform Shuffle play only within the selected album or playlist, configure the setting as follows.

1. Click (Menu) in the top left, and select [ Settings ] from the [ Tools ] menu.
2. Select [ Selected Range ] under [ Song playback ].
