Acronis True Image Backup: “Video mode setup error: Error 0x1480006: The video framebuffer parameters are invalid”
Affected HP Notebooks: HP EliteBook 840 G4, HP ProBook 450 G4, HP 440 G5
Enter bios, disable secure boot (enabling legacy boot).
Then do the cloning/restoring as usual.
On reboot, re-enable secure boot (disabling legacy) and everything will boot up as normal.

Try, Instal Acronis True Image.
From Tools panel create RESCUE MEDIA BUILDER.
Select 1. SIMPLE ****(2. ADVANCED) Select 3. NEW FLASH (F:) ***(1. ISO file, 2 WIM file)
Acronis True Image Home
- Start booting from the rescue media. When the boot menu appears, hover the mouse over Acronis True Image Home 2011 (Full version) item and press the F11 key.
- When the command line appears, type “vga=ask” (without quotes) and click OK .
- Select Acronis True Image Home 2011 (Full version) in the boot menu to continue booting from the rescue media. To see the available video modes, press the Enter key when the appropriate message appears.
- Choose a video mode you think best suitable for your monitor and type its number in the command line. For instance, typing 338 selects video mode 1600x1200x16 (see the below figure).
To test another video mode, close Acronis True Image Home 2011 and repeat the above procedure.
After you find the optimal video mode for your hardware, you can create a new bootable rescue media that will automatically select that video mode.
To do this, start Acronis Media Builder, select the required media components, and type the mode number with the “0x” prefix (0×338 in our instance) in the command line at the “Bootable media startup parameters” step, then create the media as usual.

Acronis on UEFI is failing me
Well since HP and co. are not supporting Legacy anymore in their BIOS, I cant get past this error in Acronis when booting: Loading protected mode kernel .

Video mode setup error: Error 0x1480006: Invalid video framebuffer parameters.

Kernel console may work incorrectly.
Legacy does fix it, but not available on new hardware. It said it has to do with the onboard graphiccard, but nothing to disable there.
I dont expect you guys to have a solution for this issue, but I am sure you guys have your favorite software.
Therefore, what software would you use for a simple image to image from booting.
