The Denso BHT-1700 mobile computer combines two worlds: the large display for easy work with apps and the easy-grip keyboard for reliable data entry. Together with the tilted scan head, they ensure fast and efficient barcode scanning in all environments.
The shatterproof 4″ touch display shows even extensive apps clearly and concisely. The 30 illuminated keys made of durable plastic make it easy to enter data, even when wearing gloves or handling large amounts of data.
The modern Android operating system of the Denso BHT-1700 offers the ease of use familiar from smartphones and can be expanded with our Mobile Device Management to include additional security and management options.
To ensure that even extensive tasks can be completed without fatigue, the mobile computer is particularly ergonomically designed and weighs only about 300 g. The sturdy construction resists drops from up to 2.5 m and the protection against dust and water is certified with IP67. The battery life is up to 33 hours, perfect for barcode scanning in multi-shift operation.

Handheld terminal with keyboard
Combines touch panel and keyboard to new greatness.
At DENSO, progress begins with questions: How big can the screen of a handheld terminal with keyboard really be? The answer is the new maximum from DENSO: the BHT-1700 handheld terminal with keyboard and 4″ megadisplay. To expand your possibilities, it combines two worlds. Either scan, operate apps or make phone calls via an extra-large touchscreen. Or register or order goods ergonomically via keyboard.

PRODUCT FEATURES
More flexible — touch? Or keyboard?
This question does not arise with the BHT-1700. Because it can do both. The touch display with its 4″ is at the maximum limit of a handheld terminal with keyboard and provides a perfect task overview. However, the user can also switch to the keyboard at will. The high-quality acrylic keys are large enough for secure typing, while at the same time the entire keyboard is narrow enough for one-handed operation.
Ergonomic — Natural hand posture while scanning.
The angled scan head of the BHT-1700 handheld terminal with keyboard provides a natural hand position and allows the user to keep the display in view at all times.
More professional — scanning at the highest level.
The compact scan module with its 50% smaller dimensions compared to previous models can capture codes from minimum distances of only 35 mm! DENSO’s special scanning algorithm also ensures that codes can be read omnidirectionally and at outrageously high speeds.
Faster — Get straight to the point thanks to Magic Keys.
Scan times are shortened thanks to the individually configurable, lateral quick function keys (Magic Keys) for frequent functions.
Tougher — Robust display.
The screen of the BHT-1700 terminal is equipped with extra shock- and scratch-resistant Asahi DragontrailTM Pro glass — because if there’s one thing we stand for, it’s uncompromising quality made in Japan!
More customer-focused — Six models to choose from.
What challenge can the BHT-1700 handheld terminal with keyboard help you with? The variety of models ranges from the entry-level model with all the core functions to the high-end product with the full range from autofocus camera to GunGrip.
Next — Long Range Model with GunGrip.
With the Long Range model of the BHT-1700 we have designed a handheld terminal especially for warehouse logistics. Because with a range of 10 meters, even the hardest-to-reach codes in high-bay warehouses can be detected and read with pinpoint accuracy.
More powerful — separate scan CPU.
For non-stop scanning, DENSO has equipped the BHT-1700 with an additional CPU specifically for scanning. This allows the powerful handheld terminal with keyboard to perform its core task — reliable mobile data capture — even when the central processor is busy.
More communicative — Full connectivity.
Wireless LAN, 4G LTE as well as VoLTE (model dependent), USB 2.0 and Bluetooth 4.1 DER/LE ensure fast data transfer between BHT-1700 Handheld Terminal and other devices for efficient operations.
More Versatile — All the benefits of a smartphone and more.
With the BHT-1700 Handheld Terminal, users don’t have to do without the familiar features of a smartphone. Making calls, going online or taking photos are all possible with the BHT-1700. Apps can also be downloaded and used via Google Play thanks to Google Mobile Services and, if desired, limited to company-relevant applications using Add Blocker.
Robust — Tough as nails.
In the hustle and bustle of everyday work, a device can easily fall to the floor or hit a shelf. Regular smartphones can’t cope with that in the long run — unlike our Auto-ID devices. Just like the BHT-1700 handheld terminal with keyboard, which, thanks to its robust design, can even withstand drops of up to 2.5 meters without any problems! Just driven by quality!

DENSO launches BHT-1700 and BHT-1800
DENSO, part of the Toyota group and inventor of the QR code, has just launched two new innovative Android handhelds, which, claims the company, both take size and ergonomics to a new level. BHT-1700 Android handheld terminal comes with a 4» megadisplay. / BHT-1800 Android handheld terminal has a 5» superscreen. / Both Android handhelds for mobile data collection are particularly ergonomic due to their angled scan head. / Six models available from the respective series of the innovative data collection devices. / Further information on the secure handheld terminals und hand scanners with RFID or NFC, on mobile data collection, the QR Code, and the DENSO Auto-ID Business Unit are available at https://www.denso-autoid-eu.com/en.html Whether in retail or logistics, transport, production, field & sales force automation or in the health sector – handheld terminals help their users significantly and save both time and money, for example in warehousing and logistics. DENSO, part of the Toyota group and inventor of the QR Code, has now launched two new data collection devices. Sina Haupt, Marketing Assistant at the DENSO Auto-ID Business Unit, says: «Our BHT-1800 Android handheld terminal is equipped with a 5″ superscreen for outstanding legibility. The BHT-1700 Android handheld terminal is also equipped with an extra-large display: with its 4″ mega display and physical keyboard, it offers a multitude of features.» This puts the BHT-1700 Android handheld terminal more or less at the maximum limit for a handheld with keyboard. With the BHT-1800 Android handheld terminal, a touch computer was developed whose screen pushes the boundaries. It packs DENSO’s biggest ever display on a device for mobile data collection. More information on secure handheld terminals and hand scanners with Android, solutions for mobile data collection, the QR Code and SQRC®, and the DENSO Auto-ID Business Unit are available at https://www.denso-autoid-eu.com/en.html
Android Handheld Terminals from DENSO are introduced to the market as a package
The Android handhelds by DENSO, part of the Toyota group and inventor of the QR Code, are equipped with Android 7.1.2 (Nougat) and are introduced to the market as a package, since they both work with the same technology. On the one hand, there is the BHT-1700 Android handheld terminal with a physical keyboard; and on the other hand, there is the BHT-1800 Android handheld terminal without a keyboard. Furthermore, the users can choose between six different models from the respective series of handheld terminals. «Both mobile data collection devices are particularly ergonomic due to their angled scan heads. Thus, the users, for example from retail and logistics, can work naturally without having to twist their hand while scanning,» explains Haupt. The touch panels can even be operated with just one hand, and side-mounted magic keys on the Android handheld terminals offer an additional advantage. Moreover, the BHT-1800 Android handheld terminal has a thumb-controllable virtual scan key. This makes the Android handheld terminal for mobile data collection even faster and easier to use. The BHT-1700 Android handheld terminal is also available as a long-range model with a GunGrip. Both mobile data collection devices are fitted with crack-resistant Asahi Dragontrail Pro glass as standard – one of the best in the industry and a special advantage for example in retail and logistics.
