A legtöbb játékon fel van tüntetve a játékos ajánlott minimális életkora – a dobozos verzióknál az adatok közvetlenül a csomagoláson, a PS4 online játékoknál pedig a termékleírásban vannak feltüntetve. A kiterjesztett PEGI (Pan European Game Information) szabvány az életkoron kívül felsorolja a problémás játéktényezőket is.
A PEGI-minősítés öt kategóriából áll:
